A Creative Curriculum
5th November 2018 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Curiosity, Creativity and Critical Thinking – Day One with Alice Sharp
The notion of ‘inspiration’ or ‘getting an idea’. We want every child to think creatively and critically about their engagement and involvement in play.
The creative person often develops the following characteristics: strong motivation; endurance; intellectual curiosity; deep commitment; independence in thought and action; strong desire for self-realisation; strong sense of self; strong self confidence; openness to impressions from within and without; attracted to complexity and obscurity; high sensitivity; high capacity for emotional; involvement in their investigation.
It follows then that we look to develop as creative an environment, space, and curriculum as we can for our children.
During the training we will consider:
• The Creative thinking processes.
• The progression of play – explore, experiment, practice, imitate and create.
• Guy Claxton’s Building blocks of Awe and Wonder: Curiosity, Exploration, Courage, Experimentation, Imagination, Discipline, Thoughtfulness and Sociability.
This training day will consider every aspect of the play we offer, from being creative in home play, puzzles and reading to mud kitchens!
Delegates can book both days of this course for £200 + VAT or each day as a stand alone for £120 + VAT.
