Nurturing our Children, The Science behind the Child
March 25 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Creating Nurturing Environments – Day One with Alice Sharp
Every child is unique, each one different with the potential to be nurtured, cared for, to be supported and championed. Life can be challenging and may include many stressful situations.
Children can sometimes feel overwhelmed by different things at different times such as changes to routine, environment, relationships. Spending time in a group situation rather than on a one to one could be one of these stressors. It is vital then that we tune in to children and create a loving nurturing environment in which they thrive.
“Most of us have genes that make us as hardy as dandelions: able to take root and survive almost anywhere. A few of us, however, are more like the orchid: fragile and fickle, but capable of blooming spectacularly if given greenhouse care. So holds a provocative new theory of genetics.” David Dobbs
